Training Today is an app that monitors your Health Data from Apple Watch to determine your readiness to train (RTT) each day and throughout the day. Developed with British Triathlon Coaches and tested on athletes of varying ability, Training Today takes a holistic approach to monitoring your health using the advanced capabilities of Apple Watch. It provides a simple and accurate RTT score to help you reach your training goals.
Key Features:
- Calculates your readiness to train (RTT) score automatically throughout the day.
- Presents a multi-day chart showing how your score is changing.
- Scroll through previous RTT scores on the chart using the Digital Crown.
- Runs independently on Apple Watch; no need for iPhone to be present.
- The iPhone companion app also displays your current RTT score and provides a tutorial.
- Full support for all complications allows you to quickly check your current RTT score on your watch.
- Uses Heart Rate Variability (HRV), Workout detection, and a proprietary algorithm to determine your RTT score.
- Automatic filtering of outlier data for accurate results.
- Workout detection displays completed workouts on the chart. Tap a workout for details and its impact on your RTT score.
- Post-workout prompt reminds you to use the Breathe app for a new HRV reading if needed, to update your RTT score and chart.
The following features are available in the subscription version:
- Siri support allows you to ask Siri about your Training Today score or RTT using voice commands.
- Siri shortcuts enable automation using your current Training Today score with Apple Shortcuts.
- Apple Watch notifications when your RTT drops compared to your 4-day average.
- View your RTT chart on both your iPhone and Apple Watch.
- View your complete baseline HRV and RHR data, with the ability to scroll through Years, Months, and weekly RTT charts in the iPhone app.
- Fine-tune your RTT score using Smoothing and Intensity Settings on your iPhone.
- Add widgets to your iPhone home screen and lock screen to display your current RTT score and chart.
- Compare your Resting Heart Rate data with your RTT and HRV scores.
- Receive notifications on Apple Watch when your RTT changes over a configured value compared to your 4-day average.
Planned features for future updates include context tagging, data sharing, a new learning section, and dynamic training plans.
For optimal performance, it is recommended to wear your Apple Watch as much as possible and even overnight if feasible.
